How to Resize Your Steel Watch Band
Aerostore Resizing Guide
Every AeroStore watch comes with extra band links and a resizing tool.
The resizing tool is a small plastic screw-style pin pusher. It has a threaded screw with a metal tip that slowly pushes the pin out of the watch band when turned. This makes it easier to remove links at home without needing special tools.
Before you start
Lay your watch face down on a soft surface, such as a folded towel, to help protect the dial and case from scratches.
Have a small bowl or container nearby to hold the pins and removed links so nothing gets lost.
Step 1: Find the pin holes
Look at the side of the watch band. You’ll see small pin holes on the links.
These are the pins that hold each link together. You only need to remove the pins from the links you want to take out.
Step 2: Place the band in the resizing tool
Place the watch band into the plastic resizing tool so the pin hole lines up with the metal tip of the screw pusher.
Make sure the band is sitting straight and secure before turning the screw.
Step 3: Screw the pin pusher forward
Slowly turn the round screw handle so the metal tip moves forward into the pin hole.
As you keep turning, the metal tip will push the pin out through the other side of the link.
Do this slowly and keep the tool lined up straight. If it feels stuck or uneven, stop, realign the band, and try again.
Step 4: Remove the link
Once the pin has been pushed out far enough, pull it the rest of the way out with your fingers.
The link will separate. Remove as many links as needed for your wrist size. Most wrists usually need 2–4 links removed.
Step 5: Reconnect the band
Line up the remaining links and slide the pin back through the hole.
Push the pin in fully so it sits flush with the side of the band. You may be able to press it in by hand, or carefully use the resizing tool to help guide it back into place.
Step 6: Test the fit
Put the watch on and check the fit.
It should sit snugly, but not feel tight. A good fit usually allows you to fit one finger between the band and your wrist comfortably.
If it feels too loose, remove one more link. If it feels too tight, add a link back in.
Need help?
If you’re unsure or having trouble, take the watch to a local jeweller or watch repair shop. Most can resize it quickly, often for free or for a small fee.
